FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Jonathan Jones' eighth inning two run single gave the Lansing Lugnuts a 6-5 win over the TinCaps Monday night.
The loss, coupled with West Michigan's 5-1 win at Dayton, cut the Caps' lead for the final Eastern Division playoff spot over the Whitecaps to one game with seven left.
Cory Spangenberg had two hits and an RBI for the TinCaps, and Rymer Liriano a run scoring double.
Liriano earlier in the day was named both the Midwest League's Most Valuable Player and the Top Prospect in the league.
He was also the only TinCap to make the postseason All Star team.
