FORT WAYNe, Ind. (21 Alive) - West Michgan shelled Cody Hebner with seven runs, built an 8-0 lead, and then held on for a 12-9 win over the TinCaps Friday night in the regular season home finale at Parkview Field with 7,805 on hand.

Michael Gerber drove in three runs for the Whitecaps.

The TinCaps made it interesting by scoring six times in the bottom of the ninth, two on a Ryan Miller home run.

The loss dropped the TinCaps a half game behind Great Lakes for the final second half Midwest League Eastern Division playoff spot.

The TinCaps open a regular season ending three game series at Bowling Green Saturday night.
