FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne Komets scored valuable points in the Central Hockey League standings last week to stay atop the Turner Conference.
The K's rallied Wednesday from a two-goal deficit against Texas to force overtime and a shootout. The Komets would lose in the shootout, 5-4, but left Coliseum ice with one point.
On Friday, the K's picked up a solid 4-0 win at Dayton. Goalie Nick Boucher stonewalled the Gems for his third shutout of the season. The win gave the Komets an additional two points, and three for the week, heading into Christmas.
The Komets now look ahead to four games in five nights, traveling back-and-forth between Fort Wayne. The K's travel to Bloomington on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., host Missouri at 7:30 p.m. Friday, go to Evansville on Friday for a 8:15 p.m. (eastern time) faceoff, and return home for the 55th annual New Year's Eve Game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Tommy Schoegler and Komets winger Bobby Chaumont recap the week in the first segment of Sound Off With The Komets.
