FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - When Fort Wayne Komets goaltender Nick Boucher was suspended four games by the Central Hockey League for a line brawl versus Bloomington, Gerry Festa became a crucial part to keeping the K's near the top of the Turner Conference standings.
Festa showed grit, netminding in a overtime win Tuesday at Tulsa and a shootout win Friday against Arizona. Festa is now 4-3-2 in the Komet crease this season.
Festa talks to Tommy Schoegler about stepping up when Boucher had to sit, and the importance of his role on the team as the K's move forward.
