Padres Extend Affiliation With TinCaps

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne TinCaps and San Diego Padres announced Tuesday the two clubs have extended their affiliation through the 2014 season.

The TinCaps are the Class-A minor league affiliate to the Padres. The deal secures a 15th and 16th season of partnership.

"We have enjoyed working with the Padres since 1999," TinCaps president Mike Nutter said in a statement. "And look forward to watching the future stars of the franchise continue to develop here at Parkview Field."

"Continuing our relationship with the TinCaps is a top priority," Padres Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes said in the statement. "The winning tradition instilled at Parkview Field and with the city of Fort Wayne makes the environment an ideal place for our players to grow."

Prior to the Padres, Fort Wayne as was affiliated with the Minnesota Twins from 1993-1998.
