FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants open their fifth season in the NBA Developmental League with expectations of a postseason berth.
In each of their first four seasons, the Ants have steadily improved in the standings; but the playoffs--and a winning record--have so far eluded the franchise.
Veteran players like guard Ron Howard and forward Darnell Lazare hope to change that culture. That change has started long before opening night.
Head coach Joey Meyer says this season's team is further along in preparations than years past.
And with the NBA lockout, which does not affect the D-League season, the Mad Ants looks to usher in new fans that need their professional basketball fix.
