INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Indianapolis Colts hired Ryan Grigson as the new general manager. Grigson was most recently was director of player personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Grigson hails from Hammond, Ind., and played football at Purdue from 1991-94. He played one season in the NFL for both the Cincinnati Bengals and the Detroit Lions.
Grigson joins the Colts at a time the franchise has a lot on its plate. The future of Jim Caldwell as head coach is likely Grigson's top priority. Looking down the road, the Colts focus on the NFL draft and the No. 1 overall pick. Drafting Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck--or even Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III--could affect Peyton Manning's playing status, too.
WTHR Sports Director Dave Calabro joins Tommy Schoegler and Kent Hormann on Sound Off to discuss a multitude of offseason choices Grigson will have to make.
