BALTIMORE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A record number of athletes gained All-America honors earlier this week at the AAU Track & Field Junior Olympics at Morgan State University.

Fort Wayne Express track club sent 36 athletes to nationals. Eighteen of them earned All-American honors by placing in the Top 8 in their age group of their respective events.

"This is the best year we've had," coach Terry Milton told Tommy Schoegler and AWP Director of Operations Scott Zeigler on Sound Off. "Our thing is that we want to work harder than anyone else. At the end of the summer, these are the results." Milton also serves as Northrop girls head coach.

Amber McGee was part of the 4x100m relay team. McGee was joined by Northrop teammates Dejah Arnold, Taryn Milton and Wayne's Brionna Thomas to claim the first relay national championship for Fort Wayne Express.

McGee says preparation, competition and success is much different for relays than individual events.

"You have more stress, because you're not only relying on yourself; it's other people."

Thomas also won the girls 100m dash and 200m dash to round out the three total national championships Fort Wayne Express brought home.
