FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Bishop Luers overcame a slow first half Friday night to soundly beat Bremen, 35-21. The Knights won a state record 14th semi-state title, and advance to the 2A state championship for the third straight year.
Running back Jaylon Smith led Luers, rushing for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns.
A late fumble recovery by Kendrick Mullen for a touchdown sealed the game, and punched the Knights ticket to Indianapolis again this year.
Luers will face the winner of the Saturday's 2A south semi-state between Evansville Mater Dei and Noblesville Guerin Catholic.
