FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - When Snider and Bishop Luers meet in Week 1, it's entirely possible that opening night of the Summit Athletic Conference could decide the Victory Bell.
Snider had never lost to Luers three straight years. And this defense was not going to let that happen this year.
The Panthers' defense led the way in a 10-7 cloud of dust victory Friday night. Devontay Reese's interception was key for momentum. And a sack from Donovan O'Day sealed a win as time wound down.
Snider's defense also held Jaylon to 48 total yards (31 rush, 17 receiving) and no touchdowns.
Snider quarterback Brandon Phelps went 7-for-16 with 108 yards and 1 interception. Tyrell Swain rushed for 90 yards and Snider's touchdown.
Snider head coach Kurt Tippmann joined Tommy Schoegler and AWP President & CEO Michael Ledo on More of The Score to talk about an emotional win for the Panthers.
