(Fort Wayne)- We first reported the story back in January and it now appears that the possibility of James Blackmon leaving Luers to take the head job at his alma mater Marion is one step closer to being a reality.
Last night the Marion School Board decided to not renew the contract of head coach Todd Grace by a vote of 6-0.
With the giants' job now vacant, Marion Superintendent, Steve Edwards said the community is doing some recruiting to fill the job.
Blackmon is thought to be the one that they are recruiting. He turned the job down a few years ago, but still has strong ties in his hometown.
INC spoke with James and he said he has no comment on the situation.
