FORT WAYNE (www.incnow.tv) - NBA D League All Star Jerel McNeal burned the nets for 42 points, 21 in each half, to lead the Bakersfield Jam to a 109-102 overtime decision over the Mad Ants Sunday night.
The Mad Ants stretched their lead to six with 9:11 remaining in the back and forth contest before McNeal put the Jam on his back and went on his own six point run to tie the game at 83.
In the fourth quarter's final seconds Ron Howard missed a jumper at the end of regulation and the game went into overtime.
In overtime, Bakersfield made the important plays and the Ants could not buy a bucket.
The Mad Ants were led by Tony Mitchell’s 23 points, Anthony Richardson’s 15 points, and Brandon Wallace’s 11 points and 11 rebounds.
After the game, it was revealed that the Ants have sidelined Luke Harangody indefinately with his ongoing knee problems.
The Ants next play at Maine Thursday night.
