Manning Agrees to Deal

INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Peyton Manning signed a new five year deal this afternoon worth $90 million.

The deal comes the day before training camp is set to open tomorrow in Anderson. Manning said that he did not want to be the NFL's highest paid player and Jim Irsay obliged.

Indiana's NewsCenter will be at Colts camp tomorrow and will have coverage tomorrow night. The Colts' first practice is slated for Monday.

In other NFL news, the players union is set to re-certify according to numerous media outlets. Once the union does re-certify, they can officially get the new labor agreement completed. Veterans, who signed new contracts with teams, have been unable to take the practice field without the finished agreement.

Over at Spiece Fieldhouse today the Gym Rats Basketball Association National Championships were under way. Two hundred of the country's top teams and 45 of the top 100 high school basketball players played in front of the likes of Michigan State Spartans Head Coach Tom Izzo.

And finally, the Fort Wayne TinCaps played in a high paced game at Parkview Field tonight. They won 10-7 in 9 innings.
