Blackhawk Christian Beats Canterbury For 1st Time In 7 Years In Boys Soccer

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Blackhawk Christian High School and Canterbury High School rivalry was renewed Tuesday night in boys soccer.

1A No. 5 Blackhawk Christian and 2A No. 10 Canterbury both have strong teams that hope deep hopes for playoffs runs.

In the 19th minute, the Cavaliers score first with a header from Seth Stratton off the corner kick.

The Braves pull even at 1 in the 50th minute when Matt Cavenaile finds Brooks Smith, who puts it inside the near post.

Later, Smith would be taken down in the box for a Canterbury penalty. Blackhawk Christian would get the penalty kick, which was awarded to Grant Cayot on his birthday. He would find the back of the net, and the Braves would hold on for their first win over Canterbury since 2006.
