FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Adding a little vibrancy to downtown as the city's Downtown Improvement District hosted the fourth annual "Buskerfest."
Turns out, “busker” is another name for a street performer. Break dancers, living statues, and stilt-walking giants all took over Calhoun and Wayne Streets Saturday night for the festival.
Performers came from all around the area to showcase their unique talents. Downtown Improvement District’s (DID) President Bill Brown says events like this are all about getting people downtown for a little fun.
"A lot of the big cities have buskers, they have street performers and they're attractions. People go to New Orleans, Chicago, Philadelphia, and they see these street performers doing really cool things. And that's what we want, we want people to come downtown and see that there are fun interesting things to do,” said Brown.
The DID helps sponsor and produce events in downtown Fort Wayne.
