FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – IPFW will have its budget cut in the 2015 fiscal year.

Purdue University in West Lafayette, which provides most of the oversight for IPFW, released a new budget that's been cut by nearly 2.9 percent.

The school has experienced a 4.5 percent drop in enrollment during the 2014 fiscal year. Because of that, the new budget will be cut down to around $107.9 million.

An $8.4 million budget shortfall last year prompted IPFW to lay off workers and leave some non-teaching posts vacant.

According to officials from IPFW, the decrease in funding was requested by the University due to their decrease in enrollment.
