FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Everything you need to know to prepare for prom.
As prom season approaches, finding the right dress, shoes, and accessories can be a big deal.
A local dress shop has a variety of the latest styles, and 21 Alive caught up with David’s Bridal and they showed us some of the latest trends for this year's prom season.
One of the biggest trends is the traditional princess gown style—where it cinches in at the waist and flares out at the bottom. It’s a style that is good for any body type.
Another popular style is the high-low hem. It allows the girl to show off a beautiful shoe.
David’s Bridal Sales Consultant Michelle Gatewood says they have prom dresses that will make every girl feel like a queen on her big night.
“A lot of times they come in maybe discouraged from having been at other stores. And then they come in here and we have a great selection, great colors, great prices, alterations, accessories, shoes. I mean you come in here in your regular clothes and you leave looking like your own prom queen,” said Gatewood.
Gatewood says many girls are interested in the bright colored spring dresses, mixed with a little sparkle and shine.
David's Bridal is located at 1005 Northcrest Shopping Center, off Clinton Rd.
And, what's prom without a limo? Transportation to the prom is almost as important as finding the right dress
Club Car Limousine has a variety of vehicles at your service to pick you up, take you to the prom, and drop you back off at home once the night is over.
Club Car President Phillip Coomer says a lot of groups are opting for a trolley or a large SUV instead of the traditional limo. That allows groups to have more people come along, and it also cuts down the cost per person.
“People like to save money of course, we all do, but there's camaraderie in a large group. They really and truly have a lot of fun, and we let them have fun. We let them raise a little cane, crank that stereo to the max, whatever they want to do basically as long as it's legal and safe,” said Coomer.
Coomer says Club Car’s chauffeurs and drivers are all professionals and have a safety record to show for it.
