FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - There has been a little rain this afternoon, north of Fort Wayne, but most of the precipitation will begin late tonight. Initially, it will be in the form of rain, but as we head towards sunrise Wednesday, it will turn to ice and then snow. Through the first half of the daylight hours of Wednesday, it should be only snow and we could see about 6 inches in Fort Wayne. Higher totals are possible to the north, and slightly less snow is likely in our southern counties. During Wednesday afternoon, the snow will taper off and come to an end. By Wednesday night, we will be close to zero, and winds will pick up, so blowing and drifting will be a big concern. Thursday, highs will stay in the 20s, so the snow won't melt until Friday, when we should be back in the 40s.
