Over the weekend of November 12 - 14 I was invited to Washington DC along with 150 other local Tea Party coordinatiors to attend a meeting and luncheon with the newly elected U.S. Congress members of The 112TH Congress.
The event was held at The Ronald Reagan International Building, and we were also treated to a 4 1/2 hour private tour of The U.S. Capital with Congressman Louie Gohmert as our guide.
The tour included an opportunity to to stand up on the House Floor, and to sit in the House chamber chairs as we learned about the history of branch of our government. We also visited The Floor of The U.S. Senate, and the House Chapel, and other public and private areas of the Capital Building.
Before leaving for the trip I was surprised to finally receive the picture that I took with Gov. Sara Palin when I attended her Breakfast in Detroit last spring. I promised in that story that I would share the picture when it arrived.
Washington DC is a beautiful city with a great history, and it has many buildings and monuments that one can visit.
Many thanks to Tea Party Patriots for the opportunity to be involved in our nations history.
