Dylan at Clarks turning in the first load of Cans.

Making a Difference at 9 years OLD..

We are always hearing about the negative things in life here. This is one 9 year old boy's story about trying to making a difference for something he believes in. Below you will read a letter that my neightbors are finding on there door steps. This letter was wrote by a 9 year old Huntington boy. WOW it is great to know there are kids wanting to help with real life saving programs. Dear Neighbor,

You maybe trying to figure out why there is a trash bag on your step. Let me start by saying my name is Dylan . I’m only 9 years old. I left you this bag in hopes that you would help me. Please if you drink soda would you place your empty cans in this bag?
Just last year my younger brother along with my little cousin started a local CANS FOR CANCER CURE program. The way this program works is kind of easy. We ask people to save their soda can from now till June 1st . I have set up an account with Clark’s the local recycling center on West Park Drive In Huntington. All the cans that you save will help the American Cancer Society.
All you have to do is save your cans in the bag I left for you and once the bag is full. I would ask that you take them to Clark’s. You will have to tell the person at the desk that you would like to help out CANS FOR CANCER CURE. They will add up the total from everyone that donated their cans from now till June 1st. Then they will write out a (hopefully) big check to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. To help fund cancer research.
If you can’t get your cans to the center. My grandpa and I will be making a trip the last Monday of each month to the center. So if you would need a hand getting the cans in. You can call us at ***-****. We would be happy to add them to the load.
Thank you for helping me make a difference in the fight against cancer.
Dylan

P.S. I started this program to remember all my family and friends that have lost their lives . As well as for the other in my town who are fighting this disease. Thank you for your Support .

Cans For Cancer will help make a difference in finding the so needed cure.

**** If you happen to not drink can soda please pass this on to someone you know that does, a friend, co -worker, church group, school, business or anyone. ****

After speaking with Melissa Wynkoop and hearing of her son what a great job he is doing to make a difference in the community. As a cancer survivor, I want to thank Dylan for all that he is doing to help. Your Mom is lucky you are her son. Thanks.
