Brownie Troop#354,1st graders at Lafayette Meadows Elementary have organized a campaign called "Operation Troops for Troops". The idea is to collect notes/cards & donations for GS cookies to send to the 1st293rd & 76th Brigade from IN. Their mission is "to put a note of thanks & a taste of home in every soldier's hand." Their goal is to collect ~3500 boxes of GS cookies & cards, enough for each member of the 76th Brigade. They have quickly enlisted other GS troops to help in this endeavor. They will have booths to collect donations for cookies as well as write cards all over the city as well as asking areas schools, churches etc. to help. This service project for our Troops will run Jan.18th-March 8th. Anyone interested in helping can contact Troop leader Tina Cumbey @ troops4troops@aol.com

This sounds like a great service project for the girls and a great way to let the troops know that we still appreciate all they are doing to maintain our freedom!
