HJCL has released the evils! On February 4, 2012, Homestead Latin Club performed the classic story of Pandora's Box in Barnes & Noble at the Jefferson Pointe Mall.
Pandora's Box tells the story of Pandora, who was a beautiful, young, and unfortunately, impatient girl. Because of this, she could not help but open the box given to her by Zeus, the king of the gods.
However, what lies in the box was not the ideal present. Instead, evil emotions sprung out, infesting humankind. One emotion remained trapped in her box, though- hope.
Once the play was done, it was time for the club to give out prizes to the coloring contest winners. The contest was open to six elementary schools, and the children had to color a Pandora's Box themed picture. 21 were chosen as winners.
After this, the children had the chance to play "Get the Evils Back Into the Box," where they had to throw rubber bugs back into a box, representing Pandora's box. Also, the club provided refreshments for all attendees.
Smiles filled the children's faces as HJCL channeled their inner thespians in Pandora's Box.
