"You don't know what you've got until it's gone." This is sadly the truth when it comes to the Lincoln Museum closing its doors in Fort Wayne. On Sunday the museum closed at four, at which time the line to get in stretched an immense distance, almost to Berry Street at one point. It appeared that many people came from miles around to get that one last look at the historic collection of items that has called Fort Wayne home for the past many years. The guest book even said that people from as far away as California came to visit! The museum boasts a marvelous collection, and it is extremely sad that few people realized it until it was too late.
