Nearly 80 kids and 30 parents, teachers and bus drivers from the Metropolitian School District of Wabash County headed NorthWest to explore our country in the name of science. A caravan of 2 school buses, 2 mini buses and 3 trucks pulling trailers left June 14th for a two week trip. Destinations on the trip included the Wisconsin Dells, the Badlands, the Tetons, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming for a rodeo, white water rafting on the Snake River, the Great Salt Lake, Dinosaur National Monument and horseback riding in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Nearly 4000 miles were traveled in the two weeks. All travelers camped out nearly everynight in a different city. The NorthWest trip is one of four trips Science in Motion has to offer. The trips are on a four year rotation with the SouthWest being planned for next year. All kids in the school district grades fifth thru eighth can apply to experience this trip. This is a wonderful opprotunity for kids to see our great country! This year's trip was a safe, successful one!
