MY SPEECH IN WASHINGTON DC on 2/27/14
It was a complete shock when I receive a message from the National office of Tea Party Patriots asking me to come to Washington DC to speak at the "FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT."
I returned the call and agreed to speak. I was excited and afraid because I knew that this event would be a major news story, and I knew that it would be broadcast on national TV.
I also realized that it would be an excellent opportunity to share my story with my fellow Americans and the world.
I made preparations, and decided that I needed to share what it meant to me to Pursue the American Dream to my fellow citizens.
It was a good day for flying, and my wife and I arrived in the nations Capital on the day before the event. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by the staff. Later We were introduced to some of the other speakers and attended a rehearsal for the event.
Early Thursday morning We got up and proceeded to the ballroom for me to be briefed and prepared for my time slot to speak. We toured the route to the stage and I was placed in the media room where I waited for my time slot to speak.
The moment came, and I was miked up and led to the stage door. All of a sudden music started and I was introduced and began my walk to the the stage in front of over 500 people. The rest is history.
It was an honor to be an invited speaker and to be back stage with so many Senators, Representatives, and important people.
I was able to talk with most of the other speakers and news the crews. There were so many cameras!
The event celebrated the Five Year Anniversary of the Tea Party Movement. Some of the speakers were Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots, Senator Mike Lee, Rep Steve King, Rep Michelle Bachmann, Sen Rand Paul, Sen Ted Cruz, K Karl Smith, authors, and radio talk show hosts; such as Mark Levin, who is heard on our local WOWO radio station.
It is important that we continue to preserve The American Dream, and that we keep our future bright for our children and Grand children. America has been and will continue to be a beacon of hope to anyone that shares and pursues that dream.
