Our 2 yr. old grandson after diagnosed w/ Type 1 Diabetes

You wouldn't know it to look at him!

Back in October, this year, our grandson, who is two became terribly sick and was rushed to the emergency room. Then he was life flighted to Lutheran Childrens Hospital. There they told us that Gavin has Type 1 diabetes. His blood sugar level was 2200, which is unheard of. God was keeping him alive. Gavin never went into a diabetic coma which is amazing. He was in intensive care for 3 1/2 days and seemed to accept what was happening to him. He only wimpered when poked several times a day. He isn't perfect, of course, he has his "off" moments, but all in all he has been an amazing little boy through all of the adjustments. He seems normal to anyone just looking on but inside is a little boy who has a fighting spirit. He is just like any other two year old little boy and gives his mom and dad trouble sometimes, but his little spirit has accepted this disease and he has the sweetest personality. Now, we could give all the credit to the doctors who were tremendous in his recovery or to Gavin who is a fighter, but that is only parts of the whole. We believe God to be one who brought Gavin through this terrible time and we are thankful to Him for giving us such a wonderful gift in our little grandson. We will have a blessed Thanksgiving and a wonderful Christmas with him and many more special times. We are so thankful for that.

you know i just keep thinking of things to say... I really want to be able to get my grandson a little child recliner and our daughter, Gavin's mom, she and Gavin's dad could really use new recliners for each of them. Thanks for reading.

We would like chairs to go w/ our oak dining table. We all really need dressers for our clothes. My husband and I have never had our own living room suit. We have always had used furniture. We would be extremely thankful for these things.God is good!
