Students have been learning about Abraham Lincoln during the 2008-2009 school year. The fifth graders wrote articles for an activity page that are being printed monthly in the Decatur Daily Democrat.
Today, as they celebrated Lincoln's 200th Birthday, they had an opportunity to hear from an Abraham Lincoln impersonator.
The impersonator, from Wabash, Indiana, gave 3 presentations to Southeast students. The presentations focused on Lincoln's life in Indiana. The presenter allowed time for the students to ask questions which ranged from "What did you you sleep on?" to "How do you make candy?"
It was a wonderful way for children to hear about history.
