The cougars are a problem in this area, though rarely seen (because of their nature). My 100lb German shepherd came home one day with a completely broken front leg with clear feline bite marks. This occurred days after spotting the cougar in the yard

Fort Wayne: About 3 nights ago, my parents spotted a cougar while letting their dogs out. The large cat was walking around outside of their privacy, roaring. This sighting was near Lima and Wallen Rd.

Was out hunting this past Sunday and came across tracks of three different cougars in Martin county. I have heard the the snarls and growls early in the morning and late in the evening when sitting in a tree stand.

We live near Ben Davis High School (state rd. 67 south). Be aware there are cougars in the area. We watch one hunt in a field. Watch your children. Make yourself appear as tall as you can , make lot noise. I am told they will run, Be careful!

We live off 67 south . There is property airport owns. Large field. We see cougar hunting. This is a residence area, close to school. I alike fear for children. I also fear for the cougar getting hit by a car as he comes within feet from the Road

There is strong evidence of a couger where I live in Goshen, Indiana. There have been screeches at night, marks on trees, and two winters ago we saw cougar tracks in the snow all over our yard. They were bigger than my hand.

my dad THINKS that he saw a couger where I live and so do all of my crazy nieghbors , but I think that anyone who THINKS that they saw a couger in INDIANA is CRAZY

There seems to be some confusion about the existence of PUMA/Cougars in Indiana. First of all, "THEY ARE ALREADY ESTABLISHED IN ALLEN COUNTY, IN...AND throughout all of this state. They are commonly seen in OH, KY and MO also.

hey Cougar sighting...what night did you see that??? I to seen a large cat creature on Yoder road coming out a ditch at night driving home from work.

WTF says ... on Saturday, Aug 15 at 11:58 PM

Why is everybody in an uproar about this. Ok they have been seen and so far I have not heard of any person being hurt because of them. Cougars, panthers, and Jaguars are all in Florida roaming around and there is no fear there for them there.

Lucky nobody has been injured--so far. says ... on Tuesday, Jun 16 at 7:04 PM

I hunt rabbits in that area, where the puma/cat is purported to have been seen. I'd love to see it but I won't attempt to kill it unless it approaches in a hostile manner (ie., makes an aggressive move toward me or mine)...ONLY then will it die!

Hey Amber, maybe you should quit eating meat and veggies. Those are ALL habits of the earth. So if you eat them you are causing extinction of the earth.

Jr. says ... on Monday, Apr 6 at 11:36 AM

Hey Amber maybe if you or any of your family would get attacked and mauled by one you would change your mind. None of my family has yet been attacked but I don't want to wait till it's to late. That's why I say "SHOOT THEM".

Amber says ... on Friday, Mar 27 at 11:35 AM

why isit always that we are the superior species dnt you all think they were here first wht wrong w the cougar being in HIS habitat? The forest is not ours its thiers. we are slowly killing off ALL animals, selfish with earth cause extinction sadensme

Whitney says ... on Friday, Mar 27 at 1:23 AM

I live about 2 miles from there... and there is a DNR truck checking up on it a few times a week, that I see. The woods it was seen in runs parallel to a road I drive down constantly, it's a little scary.

Why do they release dangrous wildlife to take care of the deer population. Why not lower the cost hunting license. I hope the hunters shoot those cougars or any other wildlife that is released to help the deer population before they hurt people.

Yawanna know says ... on Friday, Feb 27 at 1:38 PM

It is a cougar..... the conservation dept. leave them go periodicly to control the deer population. Just which they would make the puplic aware of this, what if a little one is out playing and cougar sees him/her.

dontrelle says ... on Wednesday, Feb 25 at 9:15 AM

bobby says ... on Tuesday, Feb 24 at 1:29 PM

It's amazing to me that there are still places so close to home where wildlife thrives =)
