I always enjoy looking for my very, very early little white crocus in our flower garden. They will grow right up thru the snow!! The sight of my flowers chases away the winter blahs!!

These are snowdrops, Galanthus nivalis, with wide bluegreen leaves. Snow crocus bloom later, have a white line on the midvein of each narrow grasslike leaf. Giant crocus bloom later. There are several species of Galanthus, nivalis is the most common.
