Last night, Fri. Feb. 27, 2009, I got home around 11:30pm and as I was retrieving my mail I noticed these two shivering travelers in my newspaper delivery tube next to the mailbox. Right after I snapped this picture, the male flew into my car and, even though I had the windows down, he couldn't find his was out. I had to trap him and put him back into the tube. I'm sure they are sorry they came back so early. It's unusual to see bluebirds this early.
The next time we want to go somewhere warm, I'M booking the flight!

I saw one just like this on my neighbors roof. I couldn't believe it! I hadn't seen one of these birds in a couple of years! It's late February...isn't it odd for them to be seen this early?
