Here we go again...another year...another flood. This is all too familiar to us residents of Elyetta St as we just had to deal with this last February. Now a little over a year later, those papers we signed, you know Fort Wayne officials...the Voluntary Buyout, we have not forgotten, but it seems that you have. Are they sitting in a filing cabinet someone because we haven't heard anything else about a buyout. As you can see those funds went else where. Hope everyone likes the new stadium, while we are flooding over here. This city should stop spending the money on things we don't need...like why did we need a new stadium downtown...what was wrong with the stadium at the coliseum...NOTHING!!! Just another way for the city to spend money, and forget about who they are flooding out in the process. Everytime the city builds without correcting the sewer problems, we suffer...those prone to flooding are forgotten, oh...until a natural disaster happens...then the city acts like they care. We are tired of the city acting and want to see this city start doing for and taking care of the residents, instead of worrying about attracting tourists.
It is also sad how even our own neighbors can charge through the flood water, with no concern of damaging our homes. If you live around Taylor and Elyetta and have drove your vehicle through our water...we will remember your vehicle. How would you like to have water under your floors? How would you like to have water in your air duct system to where you have to turn your heat off? Maybe you should think about these things before driving down our street again.
We just want the city to do their part as they promised last year. So...Fort Wayne...you going to work on that FEMA grant or do we have to flood over and over again until our homes fall apart and are not worth saving before you get the hint?
