MIKE’S CARWASH, INC. NAMED BEST PLACE TO WORK IN INDIANA
Indiana Chamber of Commerce Names the Company an Employer of Choice
(Indianapolis, IN)—Mike’s Carwash, Inc., the fourth largest car operator in the nation founded 61 years ago in Fort Wayne, was named one of The Best Places to Work in Indiana for 2009 by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce in partnership with, BizVoice, Inside Indiana Business, the Indiana Youth Institute, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Best Companies Group. The company accepted the award at a dinner on May 5 in downtown Indianapolis.
“This is a tremendous honor,” said Mike’s Carwash CEO Bill Dahm. “I believe we won this honor because we have the best employees in Indiana. The caliber of the people we hire and train and the hard work they put in every day to provide excellent service to our customers makes my job rewarding. We just opened our newest location in Mishawaka. We believe our investment in an area of the state that has been hit hard by this recession will pay off in the future. The residents of that city embrace the same values we have about hard work, environmental stewardship and exceptional customer service”
This statewide Best Places to Work program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Indiana who benefit the state's economy and its workforce. The 2009 Best Places to Work in Indiana list is made up of 40 companies in the small/medium-sized list (25-249 employees) and 30 companies in the large-sized list (250+ employees). Mike’s Express Car Wash has 600 full-time employees.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey and analysis process to determine the Best Places to Work in Indiana. During the first step, each company was evaluated on its workplace policies, practices and demographics. The second part of the process consisted of extensive employee surveying to measure employee satisfaction.
This is the latest of many awards given to Mike’s Carwash. In 2008, the Indianapolis Business Journal named them the winner of its 2008 Enterprise Award, an annual award for entrepreneurial excellence.
