Central Lutheran School participated in the Canal Day’s Parade this year. The parade’s theme was “Heroes and Heroines” and C.L.S. honored their military heroes. Their kindergartners, first and second graders sported their combat attire and waved flags. The rest of their line up consisted of the C.L.S. band float, cheerleaders, C.L.S. Boy Scout color guard, C.L.S. Military Heroes float (carrying active duty service men, women and veterans), athletes and the C.L.S. Upwards Football & Cheerleading Float. They won the Sunshine Award which is given to the entry that exhibits the best smiles and most enthusiasm during the parade. This award is given in memory of Lori Cheviron (festival parade volunteer) by Pat & Myra Anderson of Rack & Helen’s in downtown New Haven.
