Actually, I have had two run-ins with it in 2002. It even hovered over my car on U.S. 37 in front of Meijer (this is before Walmart and all that was there; MUFON also investigated it.

I love the way to fast to be human flown, not possible for a human to have done this, etc., etc., comments....exactly like all the crop circles that never could possibly be human made and it turned out to be 12 year old kids when they set up cameras.

My daughter saw same thing around 12:15 this morning. She was driving on Johnson Road and it was between Dupont and US 33. It sounds like the same thing others have reported only this was hovering in sky not moving. She had to drive under it.

It was me coming back to Earth after 5 years absence to find that my former girlfriend had a baby yet didn't know she was pregnant because I erased all knowledge of our brief union from her mind after I almost lost out to 3 super-criminals from home!

I am coming soon. This was just a test run during your worldy shananagins. I will soon come down and consume all of your food. Thanks- Mr. Martian
says ... on Friday, Jul 17 at 10:54 PM
Looks like a "sky Lantern" you can buy them at most fireworks store light a base on fire and as it fills with hot air it lifts into the sky most people think they are UFOs from a distance.

My daughter and son-in-law lit off some fireworks and we saw 2 orange glows in the sky. on the 4th. It was about 11:00 pm and the neighbors saw it too because they all were sawing and asking if they saw the same thing?

OK people, I am a trained academic (with real degrees and everything) so please listen to me. First, let's get our terminologies straight: UFO means "unidentified flying object"; so far that's what this is, so that is correct. Aliens: ? I saw it.
says ... on Friday, Jul 10 at 7:01 PM
UFO's Exist. The Air Force and the FAA have many UFO sightings every year. Now if they are ALIENS and/or beings from other worlds is another story. What were these things? Don't know. One picture like this at night with clouds, fog, smoke, no clue.
says ... on Friday, Jul 10 at 1:52 PM
It is a figment of your imagination.
says ... on Friday, Jul 10 at 8:05 AM
It could be a UFO, but then again the pictures show absolutely nothing. Get real. Spacemen could fly anywhere over Earth and for some reason they decided to check out Fort Wayne, IN? Yup...
says ... on Friday, Jul 10 at 12:44 AM
I was at the tincaps game. The orange object is a lantern with a candle in it. We watched it when it first took off until the flame was blown out high in the sky. It was really cool but not a UFO. lol
says ... on Thursday, Jul 9 at 4:52 PM
Wouldn't be surprised if it was a U.F.O.. My eyes have seen more than u could imagine in this town of Fort Wayne. I really gotta get to a TinCaps game though. The name is really growing on me too.

I agree with you Mark G, i dont see anything except fireworks.
says ... on Wednesday, Jul 8 at 9:42 AM
I must be blind. I don't see anything on the first photo except an exploding firework.

Kris, :) funny comment...how about actually making a comment on this topic....thats pretty intelligent :) Its fun, its just conversation. I dont think it really defines a person's "intelligence". Laugh have fun.....Its just a conversation!

My husband and I stood and watched it for a long time trying to figure out what it could be. It was no parachute firework - it was way to high for that.Coming south, then blackened out. weird!
says ... on Tuesday, Jul 7 at 8:15 PM
Amen Tiffany. I mean, is this what adults talk about now? I had hoped there were more intelligent people living in my city - guess I was wrong!

Give me a break...

http://www.flyingchineselanterns.co.uk/index2.htm I personally launched 2 of these on the 4th. They were about 2 foot in height and went up really high. Eventually the fuel runs out and they drop.
says ... on Tuesday, Jul 7 at 3:15 PM
i am an UFO technician, and I can confirm that they were in the area on July 4. I have had extensive training in this field. I know exactly how each spacecraft flies. This is no firework kids. I really think we might be under attack!!!!!!!
says ... on Tuesday, Jul 7 at 2:30 PM
I am a pyrotechnician and will say that this looks like a parachute firework, however as described this is not a firework. A parachute firework will go up and then slowly float back to the ground, not hang in the sky.
says ... on Tuesday, Jul 7 at 1:59 PM
Fireworks do not last for 90 seconds or so. There are youtube videos on the fireworks that are being discussed and what I saw was no where in the same realm. How weird for me that someone else on the same time and day saw what I saw????
says ... on Tuesday, Jul 7 at 11:40 AM
Do they fly that high CDP?? They looked really really high and they didnt come down??
says ... on Tuesday, Jul 7 at 8:53 AM
Ha ha....this is hilarious! They are parachute fireworks (as a couple others have already said). We let some of these off as well and were joking around that people would think that they were UFO's. Too funny!
says ... on Tuesday, Jul 7 at 6:50 AM
I have pictures of it...Coldwater MI
says ... on Monday, Jul 6 at 8:06 PM
I have the the orange object zoomed in it anyone is interested :) I am not crazy...dont believe in UFO's....just wanna know WHAT this was :)
says ... on Monday, Jul 6 at 8:04 PM
Yea I am not sure what it was. We first saw it Friday night around 10pm. It came from the northwest and headed southeast. We saw it again at the Tincaps game on saturday. It looked high enough to not be a firework, but under the clouds
says ... on Monday, Jul 6 at 5:31 PM
I shot my little mexican brother out of a cannon and that was his distress signal on his parachute.
says ... on Monday, Jul 6 at 1:56 PM
you are all wrong, I was in Ft Wayne. How dare you not believe in me "KRIS." A time will come, when I am overhead your house. Then will you believe?????
says ... on Monday, Jul 6 at 10:09 AM
I live off Carroll Rd and I am not sure of the time but I saw the same thing. So much so that I have googled to see if there is a firework call UFO. It was bright orange disk, circular, moderate speed, came down low, and then back up, it was CRAZY!
says ... on Monday, Jul 6 at 9:57 AM
Jessica is right. They do these during the fireworks for wind direction. They did these at the leo fireworks as well. There are no such things as UFO's.
says ... on Monday, Jul 6 at 9:49 AM
I saw 6 of them all come from the west then shoot strait south then vanish in mid air. they were no fireworks
says ... on Monday, Jul 6 at 9:03 AM
It was more than likely a satellite. You can usually see them at any given point of time during the night. They move at one constant speed and are usually orange or white.
says ... on Sunday, Jul 5 at 11:44 PM
I saw this as well earlier, but in Goshen, IN. Same color and distance. At first we thought it was a shuttle in re-entry because of the color, and the fact that was moving in a southern-ish direction. Did yours by chance come from the Southwest?
says ... on Sunday, Jul 5 at 9:00 PM
I bet anything that this orange thing is a parachute firework. The people who light off fireworks light these first to see the wind direction and wind speed so they know which way to set off the fireworks. Hope this helps
