Menard loves to sneak into the warm dryer while I'm folding laundry.

Menard: Rescued and Loved

My husband and I got married two years ago. We knew that once we married we wanted to adopt a cat to join our new family. Although my husband was never a big fan of cats he agreed to adopting because he knew how much I loved them. We went to the Allen County SPCA to find our new addition. After strolling through the rooms of adorable cats we found one cat that caught our attention in the last room. We walked in and this beautiful, soft tiger cat named Menard got up from his nap and strolled right up to me. I picked him up and he turned right into me to let me hug and cuddle him. We knew right at that moment that Menard was the cat for us. The staff shared with us the story of his unusual name "menard". One day a staff member of the SPCA was shopping at the store Menards when they saw a skinny collarless stray cat in the parking lot in the middle of winter. They picked him up and brought him back to the shelter and gave him the name Menard. We considered renaming him when we first got him but we quickly realized that the name suited him perfectly. He has a unique, sweet, fiesty, and loving personality. Menard has been a part of our family for two years now and he is like a child to us. He is an absolute joy and we could not imagine our lives without him. He has coverted my husband into being a total softy for cats. Everyday when he comes home from work Menard is there to greet him at the door, rolling over for a belly rub. Giving menard a safe, loving home was the best wedding gift we could have ever asked for. This one furry little creature has changed our lives and hearts forever. We love you Menard!
