Gracie Rose, an eight pound Bichon Frise dog is our own "Little Miracle". When a local breeder gave her to us about 2 years ago, we were told she had a defomed leg and would never be able to walk right. I was deteremined to give her a safe place to live, and alot of love.
She was 12 weeks old when I brought her home one cold, snowy night in January. She cuddled beside me all the way home, looking up at me with trusting eyes. I had one hand on the steering wheel, and one hand on Grace praying for mercy for her little leg. I prayed that God would heal her so that she would not have to limp all of her life.
Each day, she was given a huge dose of love, proper nutrition, a bit of exercise, and another prayer. When I would take her outside in the cold, that little leg would just stiffen up, and she would cry. I bought her a set of 'boots' to keep the snow off her little paws, and that helped as long as I could keep them on her!!
As the days turned into weeks, I could slowly see an improvement in her leg. Bichon's are noted for standing on their hind legs to beg or do 'tricks'....and little by little that hind leg grew strong enough for her to even dance for us.
She is almost 2 years old now, and has total use of that leg. I believe in miracles, and also the power of love. I believe God even cares about our little furry children!!
