We never discovered that our dog actually liked the lake until she started wading at the shoreline at eight years old. One day when my husband went out to get on the wave runner, she just hopped aboard. They have been the folly of Lake James ever since. She is now a veteran rider at age 13 and doesn't show any signs of slowing down.
