Marley hiding in my vera bag!!

My Christmas Suprise

I have wanted a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for a while but since they are not very common in my area they are pretty pricey and being a poor college kid, I just didn't have the extra cash for the expensive puppy. Regardless, I found a wonderful breeder that I hoped to use once I would be able to afford a dog. But- while I was researching the breeder I came across their puppies for sale and fell in love with a little guy they had named Precious. I begged my parents to help me out but they said they couldn't do it. I would still check the website everyday to see if he was still there, which he was up until Thanksgiving. When he was taken off the website, I was broken hearted that someone else would be taking him home. A month later on Dec 23rd, there was a horrible ice storm and my dad and brother claimed to be at my dad's office helping fix a ruptered pipe. 24 hours later after fighting through the ice storm they returned from their trip south to Kentucky (we live in north eastern Indiana) to pick up the best Christmas present ever, my Precious (who I later renamed Marley).

Marley is a wonderful dog and a great friend and I feel so lucky to have him, not to mention my awesome family who would go through so much to get me a puppy.

The two top pictures are Marley. He camped out in my Vera Bradley bag while I was packing for a weekend getaway. The third picture is Payton, my parent's golden retriever. Payton loves to be on the furniture when she isn't supposed to and is famous for stealing your seat when you get up - which she did in this picture!!
