About 5 years ago my daughter wanted her very own puppy. We found a breeder a couple hours away who had a black yorkie-poo that my daughter just fell in love with. We bought her and brought her home, and everything seemed normal...at first. She began to not eat or drink so we took her to the vet. She had worms and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). We fed her with a syringe and gave her karo syrup, still with all the time and money and love there was no hope. We were forced to put her to sleep. A few months later we decided we'd try an actual store, because surely a puppy from the high end pet store would be healthy...wrong. Pepsi, our corgi-poo was gorgeous and healthy and fun loving, until she began to have siezures. We took her to the best vet around and they diagnosed her with distemper. . .just our luck. We called the pet store and they told us that many of their dogs in the store at that current time had distemper. After a few weeks of attempting to help Pepsi on the road to recovery, the vet told us the best thing to do was just to put her down. We didnt know what we had done to have such awful luck with our furry family members. My daughter was crushed that she had to let two of her best friends go, so we gave up on looking for a puppy. A while later on my daughters birthday we went back into that pet store and that is where we first laid eyes on (our soon to be baby) Bear. He was so sweet and playful, we just couldnt resist. The pet store ended up giving us Bear for free in order to "compensate" for our loss. Today Bear is 4 years old and is the best dog anyone could ever ask for. Maybe we didnt have very good luck with all the troubles we went through, but the way I see it is we were blessed with such and amazing dog. Bear makes our family complete.
