I finally got to meet Billy Idol when he opened up for Def Leppard at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne,IN.
I remember when Rebel Yell had come out back in 1985. My friend had went to the concert and he had told me about how Billy put on one of the best shows,doing a flip on stage to the song,"Blue Highway", the different colored lights, the questions he would answer from the stage from fans, and all the good looking girls everywhere.
Billy Idol was the singer that every guy wanted to have his look and the videos were always great. I remember hearing on MTV about his motorcycle accident, and how I thought he could was going to die. Then behind the music came out and talked about his life with Generation X and after all the twist and turns he was going to tour again.
I drove all the way from WV to Washington,DC (roughly 6 hours) to see him at the 9:30 Club. To see him back with Steve Stevens it was like watching the song, "Rebel Yell"- but in the moment.
I have to say that finally meeting Billy Idol after all the years, watching him limp toward me with his hurt leg, and shaking his hand, and getting his autograph, and the photo together it was really a once in a lifetime event that I will never forget. He is really a great person to meet and I hope he will continue his career longer than the Rolling Stones.Long Live IDOL!

GREAT PHOTO! THAT'S COOL YOU GOT TO MEET BILLY IDOL! I ALWAYS LIKED HIM BACK IN THE '80S AND THOUGHT HE HAD COOL HAIR! HA!HA! HE HAD GOOD SONGS AND I ENJOYED HIS VIDEOS! ;-) I DIDN'T KNOW HE SANG AT THE COLISEUM RECENTLY!
