We are so proud to anounce the opening weekend for the new movie 'WHIP IT' the very first roller derby movie directed by Drew Barry Moore! In honor of this long awaited event the Fort Wayne Derby Girls will be at Carmike Movie Theater on Dupont Road Saturday night October 3rd. Movie starts at 7:30 PM but we will be there at 5:00 PM with WMEE 97.3 to get the party started!!
This film was shot in Detroit and two of our very own Derby Girls were casted as extras! Also, the Fort Wayne Derby Girls we lucky enough to be choosen to record the sound effects! That right, the producers sent a sound technician to Bells Skating Ring in New Haven our training headquarters to record the sounds of us skating and our falling drills which we have worked so hard to master the last four years!
