On Wednesday October 14th, Isaac Knapp Dental Hygienists Association recognized members at the October meeting with over 20 years service to the American Dental Hygienists' Association in honor of National Dental Hygiene Month. Isaac Knapp is a local component of the ADHA serving counties in the Fort Wayne area. Linda Galloway, Elaine Foley and Belva Meyer all have been members for over 40 years. Susie Beard has been a member for 35 and Mary Cooper 32 years. Other dental hygienists recognized were Ingrid Churchill and Kathy Nahrwold at 29 years, Sheli Taulbee at 28 years, Holly Cobb at 24 and Cheryl Elser at 23 years. Isaac Knapp is very proud of these dental hygieists and their commitment to our community and to their profession! Second year dental hygienists from IPFW were also in attendance at the meeting. The theme for National Dental Hygiene Month is "A Healthy Smile Lasts a Lifetime." During this month, dental hygienists are encouraged to continue to increase public awareness of the realtionship between oral health and overall body health and educating the entire family on daily health care routines to prevent decay and periodontal disease.
