Bust A Move 2 Raises $8,300 for Cancer Services
(October 20, 2009) The charity driven Fort Wayne Derby Girls partnered with Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, The State Bank and Trust Company and Summit City Radio Group to host the 2nd annual “Bust A Move,” an event that raised funds for services and supplies for Fort Wayne cancer survivors, on October 2, 2009. Over 250 people attended the event, which raised $8,300, more than double the amount raised last year. A check presentation will be scheduled.
For Bust a Move, local artists and women volunteered their talents and their bodies to create unique, inspiring cast representations of the female bust and the emotions associated with breast cancer. Local artists modified the casts, using various artistic mediums, to create outstanding works of art. The art pieces were auctioned off at the event.
