On 12/26/09 Arthur Miller, the father of Audrey Queckboerner of Leo, Indiana received a U.S. Army thank you for his service during the Vietnam war. Queckboerner is a current candidate running for the Indiana State Represenative seat in the Leo area.
The Freedom Team Salute consists of a Certificate, and letter signed by The U.S. Army Chief Of Staff, and The Secretary Of The Army, An official U.S. Army Lapel pin, and a U.S. Army Decal.
Mr. Miller has waited a long time to receive a thank you for his service in the U.S. Army. He stated that when he returned home from his tour of duty in Vietnam that he was advised by a cab driver not to wear his uniform home.
The award was presented to Mr. Miller by Emery McClendon, a U.S. Army Freedom Team Ambassador. Attending the surprise event were Mike Konkel, a Vietnam Veteran of The U.S. Marines, and Queenie McClendon.
Mr. Miller was surprised and pleased to be recognized for his service, and told us a few stories about his military service.
