Miss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen, Lydia Daley, DeKalb High School senior, will be performing the National Anthem for the 2010 Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas. Preliminary competition for the Miss America pageant begins on Tuesday, January 26th in Las Vegas at the Planet Hollywood Resort, with the finals being televised on Saturday, January 30th on TLC.
Indiana will be making its presence known at this year’s event with appearances by the reigning Miss America, Indiana’s own Katie Stam, Seymore, IN. The reigning Miss Indiana, Nicole Pollard, from Lafayette, IN will be competing for the 2010 Miss America title. Butler, Indiana native Brad Brown has the honor of serving as Master of Ceremony during Tuesday’s preliminary competition. In addition to Miss Daley’s performance at Thursday’s preliminary competition, she will be performing in a production number with the attending 2009 Outstanding Teen state contestants from around the United States. All 52 2009 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen contestants were invited to the pageant with a reunion event planned for those attending. The 2009 Miss America Outstanding Teen representatives will be treated to workshops, luncheons, autograph signings, photo shoots, and sightseeing around fabulous Las Vegas.
