Looked out the window for the school bus and saw this atmospheric phenomenon instead. It had nice rainbow colors that my camera didn't quite capture and it grew longer as the minutes passed. Lovely!

This crystal effect in the cloud was always told to me by my father that it is called a sundog. An Indian belief that it predicts heavy rain or snow within 24 to 48 hrs.

that rainbow is an ice crystal effect in the cloud.....If the sun shines on the crystals at just the right angle that rainbow affect will appear
