I went to the Alpaca Show on Sunday. I think I learned more about Alpacas then I ever have before. These Alpacas do not really want to be pet like most animals. If one walks up to you slowly take your hand and lightly just rub their neck. To pat the top of their head is threating to them,they will run. The fur is very soft and make great clothing for the winter time.The owners are all family oriented, and want to raise them to carry on to their children as a business. These times are getting harder to find a job and this is really a full time career to raise Alpacas. The shows have been around for over 20 years and I am very glad they came to Fort Wayne,IN. Please try to talk with the owners sometime, and support this new venture to increase America's new business.
